The Boxer Rebellion – Evacuate

The Boxer Rebellion became notorious as the first unsigned band to make it onto the US Billboard Top 100 chart on digital downloads alone, with the pre-release of Union, of their second album. Lead single, Evacuate, has been aired for the first time on European radios.

The London rock band’s first album was very quickly stuck into the genre of “alternative rock” and no doubt their latest will be the same, but Evacuate is proving just how much the band can’t be identified as one thing or the other. The single is a powerful, aggressive, layered rock song worthy of what have become the more mainstream festivals (Glastonbury, Reading and Leeds etc), and we know the band are capable of inventive rock instrumentation with the mix of acoustic guitars and Muse-style driven drum beats on Flashing Red Light Means Go, another track from their upcoming album that’s been leaked online. Check back here for album reviews on official release of Union.
