The end of paper concert tickets?

Miley Cyrus is preparing for her music tour this coming fall, and it’s not just like any other music tour. Why? For one, her management is banishing paper tickets.

On her last music tour, scalpers supposedly raised the amount of tickets so high, and made a great deal of profit from her concert ticket resales. The pop star better known to some as Hannah Montana was irked at the fact that her loyal fans had to pay much more than what was needed to score good seats in her show. Thus her team came up with the idea of paperless tickets, wherein seats will be pre-sold online. The e-tickets will be rendered valid in the venue upon showing the credit cards that were used to purchase them.

The secondary market is protesting that this scheme would refrain buyers from reselling their tickets should they for some reason back out from seeing the concert. Do majority of the Miley fans agree? It’s possible, since her team says the tickets are not selling out as fast, but it can also be because the scalpers aren’t hogging the seats.
