80’s Hair Bands Ruled!
Music has changed so much from when I was a teenager in the mid-80’s. Now, those were the best years in the rock and roll industry. Well, at least as far as I’m concerned they were!
What was it about the hair bands that made us love them so much? Was it their long and wild hairstyles, crazy makeup or their skin tight pants and sleeveless shirts? Maybe it was their awsome voices? I think it was for all of those reasons. One thing is certain, 80’s rock RULED!
Here are some of my favorite bands: Metallica, Bon Jovi, Aerosmith, Poison, Motley Crue, AC/DC, Def Lepard, Quiet Riot, White Snake, and Guns N Roses. There are more but it would take too long to write them all down today. I remember a Bon Jovi poster I hung on the ceiling over my bed so the first thing I saw in the mornings was Jon Bon Jovi. Yes, I had a major crush on him!
What is funny to me is that my children like this music too. My fifteen year old likes a little of this decade’s music (some of which is very good) but for the most part, when he turns the radio on he’s looking for stations that play the songs his father and I loved when we were his age. Go figure!
